Marine Science Programs
SEA Education Adventures has provided exceptional hands-on marine science experience programs in the Florida Keys since 1985. Our facility is located in a unique peninsula environment on Marathon's Bayside in the heart of the Florida Keys. The facilities consist of 6 buildings which serve as dormitories and house the marine science education programs, labs and snorkel/scuba programs and is equipped with two swimming pools. SEA's professional and courteous staff can facilitate most any program from elementary to high school aged participants as well as college level research and various hands-on overnight and day programs.
A few of the available programs are Florida Keys Marine Habitats, Caribbean Reef Fish ID and a challenging game which tests the students knowledge of the reef and its many inhabitants. Other labs such as invertebrates, plankton, seawater chemistry and Cassiopeia Stress as well as nocturnal adaptations (night snorkel/dive), and of course a Squid and/or Shark Dissection. What’s more, SEA Education Adventures can facilitate your groups SCUBA certification, with all the equipment included!
There are also fun activities to do while visiting the Florida Keys such as a snorkel or SCUBA dive on Looe Key or Sombrero Reefs, visit to the Dolphin Research Center, home of the original “Flipper” series, narrative kayak tours through vital mangrove forests, beach clean-up at a local natural beach and of course the world famous Turtle Hospital to name a few. What’s more, we can make your Keys experience multi-faceted with literature and history programs at the Hemingway House, Mel Fisher Museum, Conch Train Tour and Mallory Square.
